Riggs Washington DC is delighted to offer the services of two world class experts to elevate and enhance weddings, meetings and events being held at the hotel.

Whether it’s a first dance at a wedding, a corporate speech on company strategy or the all-important father of the bride speech, being in front of loved-ones or colleagues can come with a certain amount of jitters. With that in mind, we are pleased to offer the services of our choreographer-in-residence and speechwriter-in-residence. The DC-based experts will be available to assist preparing for an important event with their bespoke services.

Choreographer in Residence

Dan Roberge, a company dancer with The Washington Ballet, can work with couples to plan, practice and perfect their first dance.

Roberge can work with couples for an agreed upon amount of sessions to choreograph a beautiful first dance. Roberge, who is originally from Australia, has been with The Washington Ballet for six years. Prior to moving to DC, he performed at the White House for President Obama and the first lady in 2010. He has performed choreographic works by dance greats including Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine and Septime Webre.

Speechwriter in Residence

Speechwriter Jacob Maccoby can craft crowd-pleasing speeches for weddings, conferences or other events being held at the hotel.

Maccoby’s speechwriting services are available to those giving a prepared toast at wedding festivities or for guests presenting in one of the hotel’s meeting rooms. Whether it’s a best man, maid of honor, or CEO, Maccoby can assist in crafting an applause-worthy speech. Maccoby is a well-known, sought after speechwriter who has advised three presidential campaigns, two attorneys general, cabinet officials, U.S. senators, and a range of other high-profile elected officials, executives and nonprofit leaders. He served on President Obama’s debate preparation team in 2012 and was the chief speechwriter for Attorney General Eric Holder. He regularly appears as a guest on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and CNBC.
